A few basic rules of use are worth following, all the same. Here is some advice for getting the most out of your appliance.\n<h2>Good practice for using your ethanol fireplace safely<\/h2>\n<ol>\n \t<li><strong>Burning ethanol<\/strong> produces CO2 and water, so it raises humidity in the room. And in a confined, poorly ventilated space, burning <strong>ethanol<\/strong> could be incomplete and give off carbon monoxide and polluting black carbon particles. We therefore recommend installing your fireplace in a well-ventilated room larger than 35 m\u00b2.If you have no choice but to install your fireplace in a small room, leave the door open while it is burning.\n\n<hr \/>\n\n<\/li>\n \t<li>Choose a fireplace that meets the <strong><a href=\"\/en\/blog\/ethanol-safety-afnor-standard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AFNOR NF D35-386 standard<\/a> for ethanol fireplaces<\/strong>. You get extra assurance about the safety of the product.\n\n<hr \/>\n\n<\/li>\n \t<li>Light your <strong>bioethanol fireplace<\/strong> with a fireplace lighter or long matches. Ordinary short matches are not suitable. If you put your fireplace out before it has burnt through, open the burner and wait at least 10 minutes so the trapped gases evaporate and the tank cools before lighting it again.
