1 – What is fireplace bioethanol and how is it produced?

The word bioethanol refers to denatured alcohol; the “bio” part comes from the fact that it is produced from agricultural feedstock.

Pur-Ethanol is a superior-quality 96° extra-fine alcohol. It is produced from sugar beet, whose juice is distilled to give a 96° extra-fine alcohol.

It is then denatured to make it unfit for consumption.

2 – What makes Pur-Ethanol bioethanol special?

It is an agricultural fuel from French farming. Its denaturing process uses no phthalates, methanol or MEK (ethyl methyl ketone).

Pur Ethanol is an extra-fine alcohol par excellence; technically there is no higher quality.

3 – What quality guarantees does Pur Ethanol bioethanol offer?

The hallmark of quality in fireplace bioethanol lies in the quality of the ethyl alcohol, which is neutral and extra-fine at 96°.

Before denaturing, it is subject to and checked against food alcohol standards. Quality analyses are carried out at every stage.

4 – Does Pur Ethanol bioethanol smell?

Pur-Ethanol alcohol is extra-fine at 96° and neutral. Unlike raw alcohol, its over-distillation (rectification) makes any trace of impurity that could cause an odor undetectable.

Pur ethanol is completely odorless when burning.

5 – How long does pur-ethanol burn for?

That depends entirely on your equipment and its settings; all alcohols burn in much the same way.

6 – Which pack size should I choose and how should I store my bioethanol?

We offer 4 pack sizes:

Pur ethanol must be kept dry at room temperature. It is a flammable product, so take the necessary precautions and do not leave it next to a heat source.

7 – What are the risks of using bioethanol?

Pur ethanol is a fireplace alcohol, and therefore a highly flammable liquid. In case of contact with the eyes or skin, rinse carefully with water for several minutes.

If irritation occurs, consult a doctor.

8 – Is Pur-Ethanol a bioethanol 100% made in France?

Yes, Pur ethanol comes from French sugar beet. It is manufactured, denatured, packaged and shipped in France.

It is a bioethanol 100% made in France. Our boxes, cans and labels are also made in France, and our transport provider is French.

9 – Where can I buy fireplace bioethanol?

Direct sales only, through the online store on our website!

10 – What are the estimated delivery times for my order?

Delivery in mainland France for up to 2 parcels (30 kg) takes 24 h with France Express * (Corsica excluded); from 3 parcels it takes 48 to 72 h by express courier * (Corsica excluded).

For Spain, delivery takes 48 to 72 h * by European courier.

These times run from dispatch, not from the order date. They are indicative but met in more than 95% of cases.

11 – What does the "Completed" status mean for my order?

The “Completed” status means your order has been dispatched and is on its way. On the day of dispatch you receive an email from the carrier so you can track your parcel.

12 – Is 100° ethanol better?

You may sometimes find 100° alcohol on the market. It is by no means a better-quality alcohol or exceptionally pure, merely a dehydrated alcohol. For heating purposes it is of no benefit whatsoever.
